Dear Friends, 10-6 WHAT DOES GOD ASK OF YOU?
Why is it that we have two opinions about being Christian that keep us from doing so. One is I cant live the Christian life, and the other is Ill have to give up too much. Both are fallacies. We think of our human strength and give up, knowing ourselves. But we are not left alone to struggle with our temptations.
1Co 10:13 There hath
God is here for us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Nor did he give us an impossible journey to go through in this life. He knows we are weak and God says this:
2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Remember we get our strength this way:
Php 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.Ne 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the
joy of the LORD is your strength. Our joy comes from knowing our sins are forgiven and that we will have a home in heaven. That is what keeps us from caving in our times of affliction.
2Co 4:17 For our
light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;Ro 8:18 For I reckon that the
sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.Our time is coming. We are not home yet.
1Co 15:19
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But our homecoming will be great. God will wipe away our tears. He will have a banquet for us. And we will be with Him forever. Thats a wonderful thing to look forward to. God is so good.
More next time on what God wants from us.
