She along with her brother and sister was raised at the Miami Childrens Home in Maumee Ohio until at the age of 15 she was taken to the Home for the Mentally Feeble in Columbus,Ohio. She remained there until she was 20 years old. She married Frank Pate,gave birth to two children and died at age 23 of cancer. Her children ages 3 years and 10 months old were then placed in the Miami Childrens Home. They were there for some time before being taken in by "Aunt Nellie"(Harris)Keller. She died on Oct 24 1925 in Toledo,Lucas,Ohio.

Frank PATE (son of Edward PATE and Helen HODGES) was born on Aug 18 1863 in Plymouth Wayne Michigan. He was 40 years older than Margaret when they married.
He died on Apr 1 1936 in Toledo Lucas Ohio. Margaret P HARRIS and Frank PATE had the following children:

+12 i. Maud Mary PATE.

13 ii. Austin Elsworth PATE was born on Dec 11 1924 in Toledo, Lucas , Ohio. He died on Feb 22 1981 in Toledo,Lucas,Ohio.
