STEPHEN HAWKINS

1. Stephen Albert Hawkins was born on 16 Feb 1852 in New York.

He resided  with son John in Jun 1920.

He was ill with Apoplexy on 30 Nov 1932.

He died on 1 Dec 1932 in Wilkins Rd, Fulton County, Ohio. He was buried on 4 Dec 1932 in East Swanton Cemetery, Swanton Twp, Lucas County, Ohio.

His farm was located on what is now RT2 ( Airport Hwy) at the corner on which a restaurant called Charlie's now sets. According to his his grand-daughter Norma Whitman, he was on the tall side a bit gangly and on the dark side. With a great deal of hard work and fertilizer was able to grow some delicious sweet corn.
He was not the type man to live alone, he was first two wives past away. He became very
paranoid in his old age. Believing that his wife was trying to poison him. At one point when he
was living with his son John he insisted that a jar of canned peaches that she had prepared be thrown away and forbid anyone from eating them because he was so convinced they where poisoned.

His sense of humor was one on the more dry side. For instance one day Norma and her sister was cutting skirts out of feed bag material. He walked past them and said, "You girls be certain you get those long enough".

His  funeral service was held at the Wilkins Rd, with Rev Foley proceeding.

Martha E was born in Feb 1852. She died on 19 Sep 1920 in Swanton, Fulton County, Ohio. She was buried on 22 Sep 1920 in Morenci, Lenawee County, Michigan.

He was married to Magdalena Hake (daughter of John Henry Hake and Louisa(Lucy) Betz) on 1 Nov 1875 in Fulton County, Ohio. Magdalena Hake was born on 17 Mar 1853 in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. She died on 12 Apr 1912 in Swanton, Fulton County, Ohio. She was ill with on 12 Apr 1912 in cardiac arrest, Swanton twp, Lucas County, Ohio. She was buried on 16 Apr 1912 in East Swanton Cemetery, Swanton Twp, Lucas County, Ohio. Stephen Albert Hawkins and Magdalena Hake had the following children:
