8.William C HARRIS was born on Oct 31 1833 in Marston, Bedfordshire, England.
He was christened on Nov 24 1833 in the Church of England .
W.C. was a successful fruit raiser of Ross township. He was
described as "a stalwart and substantial citizen of Wood county".
He was a primarily a self-educated. He learned his letters at
the Sabbath-school in England, and attended school only two winters
after coming to the United States.
In 1846 at the age of 12 he crossed the Atlantic on the"American Eagle".
At the time it was the largest ship afloat carrying 1,200 passengers.
He took passage at London,and after a long voyage of forty days he landed
at New York City on July 11,1846.
He was accompanied by a friend of his fathers and one of his
brothers. His father paid for the brothers fare and W.C. worked
for his after he arrived in America.
He remained with his brother and friend in northwestern Ohio until
the following spring. He then went to Hillsdale County, Michigan,
where for some years he worked on a farm by the month.
He was married to Ann E SIMMONS (daughter of John SIMMONS and CHARLOTTE)
in Aug 1856 in Branch County Michigan.She was 15 years old at the time
of her marriage.
Ann E SIMMONS was born in 1841 in Palmyra New York.
She died on Mar 19 1867 in Toledo , Lucas, Ohio.
She was twenty-six years old at the time of her death.

He was married to Elizabeth SANGSTON (daughter of James M SANGSTON

She died in Rossford Wood Ohio.

She was born on Oct 16 1870 in Ross township ,Wood ,Ohio.
She was a Stenographer and typewriter in 1897 in Jefferson House
in Toledo,Ohio.
+47 iii.Frederick Isaac HARRIS.
He was a fruitgrower in Wood County,Ohio. After being variously
employed he became engaged in the wood business for fourteen years,
was in the wholesale meat business for four years then became engaged
in the fruit growing business in Ross township(Rossford) Wood county
Ohio.
He began this business on three acres, it was reported in 1897 he had
on his place the following:
1,000 plum trees;225 pear;100 cherry;2,300 peach;12 apricot;and 10
quince;also three acres planted in grapes;six in raspberries;four in
strawberries; three-quarters of an acre in gooseberries;and six acres
in aspagus;also some Japanese prune and walnut on 42 acres .
He was elected as school director of his district which he served
for many years.He was a member of Ford Post 14,G.A.R. and also
belonged to Wapakoneta lodge No.38, I.O.O.F.
He was a Republican in politics .
He served in the military. He served for five years in the State militia
belonging to Capt. Daniel Collins company and to the 130th Ohio Volunteer
Inf. under Col.Phillips. Orginally the first Ohio National Guard.
The regiment left Toledo May 12 1864 and reported at Sandblaster
consolidation and muster in.Under Colonel Charles B Phillips,the regiment
moved to Johnson's Island and guarded prisoners of war there. On the
4th of June it was ordered to Bermuda Hundred Via Washington and was
assigned to the Second Brigade,Third Division,Tenth Army Corps
under General Butler.
The time was spent drilling,digging rife pits and picketing the lines.
It marched on the 21st of June and on the 22nd the regiment participated
in a skirmish at Deep Bottom with the loss of one man wounded.
On the 11th of August it marched to Bermuda Hundred and then proceeded
on transports to Fort Powhatten. The Regiment mustered out at Toledo
on Sept 22 1864.
The regiment lost during its service by disease 1 Officer and 22
Enlisted men. Although for a time he was in the United States service,
he never took part in any active engagement,and was discharged at Toledo.
He died on May 17,1916 in Rossford,Wood,Ohio
