Will of David Forehand, Mar 30, 1838, proved in Aug Court 1838 names the heirs of Betsy Ruffin as: Polly Ruffin Taylor, David Ruffin, Martha Ann Ruffin, Samuel Henry Ruffin, Elizabeth Francis Ruffin, John Ruffin. Executors: Barney Pearson Mentions Polly Ruffin Taylor, as an heir of Betsy Ruffin. [Notice date is March 30, 1838 on his will. She is Samuel & "Betsey"s eldest. She is not mentioned as an orphan in 1844...but that may be because she was married already when her mother & father died and did not need to be listed as an orphan...but you don't have her being married to a a Taylor until 1847!! Could your date be wrong...maybe your date of marriage to John B. Taylor is not correct?????? They have her being a Taylor in her Grandfather's will as early as March 30, 1838 proved Aug Court 1838...you have her as a Boseman Nov 7, 1838 Barney Pearson's Orphan Bonds/ returns "David Forehand, sale by Barney Pearson, Exe, Sept 20, 1838, Nov term 1838. David Taylor, Matilda Derem, Elizabeth Ruffin and the widow were buyers" "David Ruffin, orphan of Samuel Ruffin and son of Elizabeth Ruffin. Bond 1840, returns 1841, 42, 42, 44 by Barney Pearson, Guardian. Was grandson of David Forehand, deceased". The very same wording as above is in the Nash County Court Minutes for Elizabeth Frances Ruffin, John Ruffin, Martha Ann Ruffin, and Samuel Henry Ruffin.
