Jay's Baseball Resume'

Jason Koehler, a 17th round draft pick in the 1996 Amateur Baseball Draft, is a 1993 graduate of Fleetwood High School, where he holds 7 school batting records. During his sophomore season at Rider University (1995) he was named to the Division I - 3rd Team All-American and 2nd-Team Academic All-American teams. These honors drew him national attention and he was invited to play in the prestigious Cape Cod League, where he was second in the league in
home runs with 12. Jason shares the Rider University career home run record with 33. Achieving this in only 3 seasons. ( He was drafted after his Junior year.)

He was drafted by the Toronto Bluejays on June 3, 1996 and played for the St. Catharines Stompers during the 1996 Season. Battling a shoulder injury, Jason batted .230 with 4 homeruns, 6 doubles and
18 RBIs in 47 games.

Jason was assigned to "extended spring training" during the Spring of '97. He was assigned temporarily to the Dunedin Bluejays in May as a back-up catcher due to an injury to a rostered catcher. He was then assigned to the St. Catherines Stompers. June 22 - 5 games into the Stompers' season - Jay was promoted to the Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League.

Jay graduated from Rider University in December 1997. After much thought, he has decided to retire from professional baseball and pursue his business career. Good Luck, Jay!!! Thanks for the thrills!!!
