1.  FRANCIS GUTHRIE.  He married UNKNOWN.

Notes for FRANCIS GUTHRIE:
Francis Guthrie lived in Coleraine Township, Lancaster County, PA in the
 year 1743.  He lived near Middle Octorara Church where the Covenants were 
renewed in that same year.  He was supposed to have been a Covenanter there
.  He was also found to have owned land there in 1753.  From there he moved
to Virginia and then to Hawkins County TN.  He and his son, James, both
owned land in Hawkins, Greene and Jefferson Counties of Tennessee during 
the years  between 1793 and 1812.  He is believed to have died in this 
three county area.

Lancaster Co. PA Surveys

A draught of a Tract of Land containing 184 acres the allowance of 6 per
 cent surveyed the 9th of the 4th month 1754 for Francis Guthry (or Gutrah)
 including about 100 acres of a survey formerly made by Samuel Lightfoot 
for one Samuel Stuart by warrant of the 8th of August 1738 which was
 purchased by said Guthery who also obtained a warrant for additions in 
pursuance whereof this tract was surveyed and this return of the whole is
 exhibited. By Geo. Churchman D.S.

Note: Andrew Little purchased the remaining part of the said Samuel 
Stuarts survey which is included in his return.

Tn. Notes for LEWIS W. GUTHRIE: Lewis Guthrie owned a farm between Bulls Gap and Rogersville on Highway 66. The house still stands today, but the land has been subdivided. There is a family graveyard that was part of the farm. It is now in the center of a subdivision called "Shadowland Hills". The graveyard is grown up with tomb vine and cedar scrubs. For and in consideration of the remainder of the tract of land conveyed to 
us, at this date, known as the Harvey Moore tract, located in district no.
 6 of Greene Co. Tenn.

We E.F. McPherson and wife Mary E. McPheron hereby, transfer, convey allot
 or partition to Andrew Guthrie and wife Sarah Guthrie co-owners with us,
 the following part of the said tract described as follows:

Beginning on a stake near a small Elm and Post Oak on a ridge - North 46 
1/2 W 98 poles to a Gum on Dunwoody's line - South 79 E 11 poles to a pine 
- N 49 E 88 poles to pine and Hickory South 99 poles to Stand Dogwood East
 22 poles to a pine and Dogwood & Hickory - South 11 E 92 to stake on 
Harmon's line - with same West 95 1/2 poles to stake 2 poles south of a
 marked walnut - north 42 poles to a stake - north 65 East 64 poles to the
 beginning said to contain by surface measurement fifty-eight acres - the
 right of rirgress and egress is retained for the owners of land retained 
by us over the lands herein conveyed to the point where Lewis McPherons
 corners and Harmon's line - said out let located where it best suits all
 parties concerned.

This we convey cir fee simple and warrant and defend this title or deed 
against all legal claimants whosoever and the lands sold, from the land 
herein conveyed by the said Andrew Guthrie to Messrs. Evans, Ramsey & 
McPheron - formerly - are hereby confirmed.

sum of seventy five dollars to us in hand paid the receipt their for is 
hereby acknowledged have this day bargained  and sold and do hereby trans-
fer and convey unto A.A. Guthrie all the right title and interest we have
 in and to a certain tract of land in the 4th Civil Dist of Greene County
 Tennessee and bounded as follows:

Beginning at a stake about 10 feet from a cherry running S 32 E 32 poles 
to a stake in Riley's line N 74 E 8 4/5 poles to a stake N 8 W 15 1/4 poles
 to a stake N 20 W 14 3/4 poles to a stake S 77 W 18 4/5 poles to the
 beginning  containing three acres more or less. 

To have and to hold unto the said A. A. Guthrie his heirs or assigns
 forever. We covenant with him that we are lawfully seized of said land 
and have a good right to convey the same and that said land is free from 
any encumberance and we do furthermore agree and bind out heirs and 
representatives to warrant and defend the title to the said described 
land to the said A.A. Guthrie against the claims of all persons whomesoever
 this the 4 day of Sept 1906.

Notes for ANDERSON ANDREW GUTHRIE:
Anderson Andrew Guthrie and his first wife, Nettie Poe, were given land by
Nancy Elizabeth Lane Poe.  This land is what gave them their start.  After
Nettie's death, Anderson married Lydia Stroud.  They lived in this home
until moving to Cleveland, Tennessee.  The land and home are located in 
Greene County, TN, on the Mt. Hope Road.  The house still stands but is 
not occupied.

We Edrich Hourd and wife Josephine Hourd for the consideration of the sum 
of seven hundred dollars to us paid the receipt therefor is hereby 
acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and
 convey unto A. A. Guthrie all the right title and interest we have in 
and to a certain tract of land lying in the 6th Civil Dist of Greene 
County Tennessee, and known as Lot No. 3 in the Jessee Rader farm and
 bounded as follows:

Beginning at a cedar on the side of the Arnett Road N77E 143 poles to a
 stake on the line of the Southern Rail Way Company with same 71 poles to 
a stake corner to the Rader heirs S 77 W 36 poles to a Sycamore on the 
creek corner to Riley Hoard with his line down the creek 8 poles to a 
Sycamore S 70 W 92 poles to a stake on side of road thence with said road
 48 poles to the beginning.  Containing 46 acres.

To have and to hold unto the said A.A. Guthrie his heirs or assigns forever
.  We covenant with him that we are lawfully seized of said lands have a
good right to convey the same and that said lands are unincumbered. We do
 furthermore agree to defend the title to said lands to the said A. A.

M.D.  & Mabel Guthrie to A.A. (Anderson Andrew) Guthrie

For and in consideration of the sum of twenty five hundred and no/100 
($2,500.00) Dollars, $1500 of which is paid and the receipt of same is 
hereby acknowledged, and one thousand dollars of which is represented by a 
not in favor of J.A. Wisecarver, secured by deed in trust to J.A. Susong,
 trustee, on the real estate herein transferred, which indebtness, together
 with the deed in trust securing same, is assumed by the vendee herein, and
 will be discharged by him as the balance of the purchase price of the real
 estate herein conveyed, and he so assumes and agrees to pay by the 
acceptance of this deed, we M.D. Guthrie and wife, Mabel Guthrie, have this 
day bargained and sold, and do hereby transfer and convey unto A.A. Guthrie
 two certain tracts or parcels of land, situated in the 4th (formerly 6th)
 civil district of Greene County, Tennessee, being portions of land known 
as the Jesse Rader farm, and more particularly described as follows:


Tract No. 1:  Beginning on an iron stake, at side of road, corner to Riley,
 and running N 64 E 83 poles to a persimmon; N 74 E 17 poles to a locust 
post; thence N 26 W 35 2/5 poles to corner stake; then S 74 1/2 W 75 2/5 
poles to stake in road; then with road S 11 E 15 1/5 poles to a stake; then
 S 22 W 32 poles to a rock; then S 38 E 11 poles to the beginning,
 containing 22 1/2 acres, more or less.

Tract No. 2:  But being lot no. 4 of recent survey subdivided for sale of
 the above described land, beginning on the corner stake and also beginning
 corners to lots 2 and 3 and running S 26 E 35 2/5 poles to locust post in
 Riley's line;  then with said line N 74 E 81 poles to a rock in the

Notes for ANDERSON ANDREW GUTHRIE:
Anderson Andrew Guthrie and his first wife, Nettie Poe, were given land by
Nancy Elizabeth Lane Poe.  This land is what gave them their start.  After
Nettie's death, Anderson married Lydia Stroud.  They lived in this home 
until moving to Cleveland, Tennessee.  The land and home are located in 
Greene County, TN, on the Mt. Hope Road.  The house still stands but is not 
occupied.

unto A. A. Guthrie all the right title and interest we have in and to a 
certain tract of land lying in the 6th Civil Dist of Greene County Tennessee
