Notes on Jessie Vickers:
He was a cookhand and deckhand on a tugboat owned by his uncle. He died when he was pulling the rope that suddenly got caught around his feet. He went overboard during a storm on the Delaware Bay tring to anchor the boat. The people on the tugboat took up a collection for a small farm of 30 acres and his wife and children where Mama lived as a little girl. The mother was later remarried.
