What Is It?
(for younger children)

Below, is a very simple Flannel Board to use with toddlers. Enlarge the pattern and cut out different size circles in the suggested colors.

What Is It?

Here is a circle, so nice and round.
Here are two feet, to walk on the ground.
This must ge a tail, and two more feet.
Lets add the head,
Now the puzzle is complete!
What is it? (It’s a Turtle!)

Place all circles on the Flannel Board and ask toddlers, “What are all these circles?”. Imply that they may be some kind of puzzle and ponder, “I wonder what it is?” Recite poem and place small circles in place under the larger circle.
