Cruising College Fjord

College Fjord

College Fjord is an astounding place. It has 16 tidal glaciers within its area. Each named for an Eastern College, such has Harvard, Columbia, etc. As you cruise down the Fjord, you see one after another, grinding down to the water. Ice floes and bergs are in the water. Periodically, one of the glaciers calves. In the picture, the small black "dots" on and around the ice bergs are respectively sea otters and seals.

As we entered the fjord, there was a low cloud over a glacier with a break in the clouds, the sun caught the low cloud and cast a rainbow within it over the glacier. What a greeting!
