Linville Jackson SWANSON b. 23 Jan 1832, d. 1 May 1910, was also a gunsmith and worked in the Armory making guns for use in the Civil War.
He was married to Mary E. SMITH b. 28 Nov 1844, d. 20 May 1917, daughter of Rev. Moses and Celia ALLEN SMITH, on 13 Feb 1862, by Abram Suddreth, Esq. To this union eight children were born:
Celia I. SWANSON, b. 3 Nov 1862, d. 3 Jul 1941, married W. Columbus (Lum) TOLBERT.

d. Pansy married Dwight HAAS, two children, Jerry and Robert.
e. Faye married Ned NEET, one child, Faye.
f. Earnest married Estelle ELLER.
g. Mary married Robert GOFORTH, one child Mary Ruth.
h. Addie died.
i. Ruth died.
j. Edd TOLBERT married Claudia WILLIAMS (sister of Fannie)

Maynard married Sadie KIRBY; three children Myron and Byron (twins), and Eric. Gene married Judy Saunders; two children, Neil and Brent. Allan married first, Rose PRESTWOOD. Married second, Willadell COFFEY; one child, Pamala. Lois married Charles WARD, four children; Gail, Andrea, Denise and Claudia. Paul married Oilene COFFEY; one child, Sharon. Glenn died. Marvin died. Effie died. Martha died.
Isaac A. SWANSON b. 12 Jan.1865, d. Jun 1948. Married Jane E. SHERRILL, daughter of Milton SHERRILL.

a. Ethel died in accident 31 Oct 1933, age 34.
b. Zelma married first, Harry TEAGUE; two children, DIANNE and Rebecca. Married second, Alvin FOWLER; one child.
c. Garland married Beatrice SATTERWHITE, one child, Elaine.
d. Paul married first, Nancy POTTS, married second, Faye WARD.

1.Mabel married Hardy Lee Swanson, son of Bartlette SWANSON of Georgia. She died 28 Feb 1920, age 36.

These are facts I have so far about my immediate genealogy on my Father's side. Many dates and names are yet to be completed.

Clyde - no information available; may have had a daughter named Margie

Nell's Mother died when Nell was five years old; Charity HOLBERT(who never married) and Candace HOLBERT(HARRILL) were sisters of Rachel Elizabeth. Both played a big part in Nell's teen years. Aunt Charity continued to be part of the family until the 1950's. She stayed off and on with Nell and Fred during the Depression Years when she was unemployed. She died at Broughton Hospital of senility.
