This page is dedicated to
all you potato-plowing micks
and green-eyed colleens with
big Irish hearts and Guinness in your blood!

Greetings! I am OneIrishRover
and this is my homepage

This is what Ireland means to me

Shamrocks and harps.

Stray sheep with spotty behinds.

Creamy pints of Guinness at Sinnotts.

Old men in tweed coats with bushy eyebrows and hairy ears.

Tea and cakes at Bewleys on Grafton Street.

Eating sausages on the street in front of Keileys in Killarney.

Sitting with a lover on the banks of Glendalough.

Mint jelly that burns the hair in your nose.

Hiding shooey black pudding under my napkin.

Bulmers cider with crispy fried plaice.

Celtic crosses and long dead heroes.

Munching Time-Outs in Heuston Station.

Throwing coins into the Liffey
from the Ha'penny bridge.

The view from Connor Pass.

The Abbey at Ennis.

So many images....

If you would like to share some of yours,
give me a message sometime.

The music playing is Planxty Eleanor Plunkett
by Turlough Carolan (1670-1738)

This tune was written for Eleanor Plunkett
of Robertstown, County Meath.
She is said to have been the last survivor of her family.
She was probably related to the Christopher Plunkett
who appears in the 1655 Civil Survey of County Meath as
an "Irish papist", and proprietor on the premise
of "an old castle (Castlecome)".
According to stories, 30 members of the family shut
themselves up in the castle of Castlecome
and were "destroyed by boiling water".
