One Year
The calendar reads August 10, 2003.
The hands on the clock point to 2:00pm
My now time does fly.
It's as if the music has just stopped and
I've just finished dancing with the prettiest bride ever.
It's like my eyes have just dried,
But in reality a year has come and gone.
This past year I've seen the two of you grow into your own person,
But yet grown closer together.
Then, as if a Dad didn't have enough to worry about,
Ya'll went out and got this big motorcycle.
Riding up and down the coast line
What can I say, but I'm glad I don't know about all of the trips.
Someday I'm sure you too will be in my
chair
Looking back in your memories of the day
Your Little One was no longer Your Little One.
When you too will watch them
Leave one by one.
Just remember how fast this year has gone
And with that in mind
Live life to the fullest, for tomorrow
I wouldn't want you to wake up and realize
Life has past you by.
Never miss the opportunity to say
"I love you"
To each other.
With all my Love on this very special day,
Dad
