My 3rd great-grandmother Angeline Bishop (b. 1854 in IN, d. 1933, Allen Co., IN) was the daughter of John Bishop and Elizabeth Hursh. Angeline married William H. Hollopeter in Allen Co., IN in 1870.
John Bishop (b. abt. 1826, OH) married Elizabeth Hursh on 9 Oct 1853 in DeKalb Co., IN. They were the parents of at least four children: Angeline (above), Harriet Minerva (b. 1855), Mary C. (b. abt. 1857), and Sarah L. (b. abt. 1859). They may also have been the parents of two sons who died young: Benjamin (abt. 1859-1861) and Stephen (abt. 1860-1861). John and Elizabeth both died in Allen Co., IN and are buried in the Old Leo Cemetery in Leo, IN.
I am currently collecting Bishop data from Allen and DeKalb counties, Indiana, particularly those Bishops with Watson or Hursh connections. While I realize that there are Bishops in other areas of IN, I am focusing only on Allen and DeKalb counties at this point. If you have any such data to add, I would love to hear from you.
