Comment on Note 694. Parker. C. H. A., Nov. 23, 1910. Will, Feb. 10, 1665, of Captain John Evered, alias John Web of Dracut upon Merrimack River, late of the town of Boston, merchant, proved Nov. 13, 1668. To my wife Mary all my household goods over and above the third of what I have in New England, but not elsewhere. To the church of Boston, fifty pounds. To my cousin James Braiding of Boston, merchant, thirty pounds. To my brother William Dinsdale of Boston, cooper, twenty pounds. To the pastor of the church in Chelmsford, twenty pounds. To my servant, Henry Nelson, ten pounds, etc. To the rest of my servants, viz., Hugh Stone (?), Samuel Mercer, alias Watts, John Bennett, Peter Raghtiliagh and Elizabeth Lilbourne, forty shillings severally. “The remainder of my estate both real and personal (its nature not described) in equal division to my cousins John Eayres, Robert Eayres, Thomas Eayres, Peter Eayres and Nathaniel Eayres of Haverhill and the wife of John Arsliby of Andover, and if there be any more brothers and sisters of that family of Eayres not herein named they shall have an equal portion. Also, I desire that the eldest son of John Boishopp (sic) late of Newbery now living at Nantucket, may have an equal share with the Eayres aforesaid. I desire to be buried in Boston. My trusty friends John Fisk, pastor of Chelmsford, and Ensign Thomas Hincksman of ditto, executors. Witnesses: Thomas Hincksman and Henry Nelson. Note: The spelling here of names of person is that of the will... April 15, 1669, list of business claims examined by John Allen, John Stedmand and Richard Cooke... Nov. 30, 1668, inventory by Abraham Parker and Josiah Richardson. The original, on file, is so bulky that the copy covers eleven and one-half pages in the record. Lack of time led me to omit the staggering task of studying it for possible clues. No executors’ account on file or on record.
