     #6030.  3. AYERS.   A. H. S. B., Jan. 31, 1917.  John (1) Ayers was in Salisbury, 1640, in Ipswich,
1646, in Haverhill, 1647, and died there, March 31, 1657; will probated Oct. 6, 1657.  He left a wife,
Hannah (___), and children: John, Nathaniel, Hannah, born Dec. 21, 1644; Rebecca, Mary, Robert,
Thomas, Obadiah, Peter.

     John (2), born in England, married May 5, 1646, Sarah, daughter of John Williams of Haverhill. 

     Next, in 1659, he married Susannah, daughter of Mark Symonds of Ipswich.  He was killed by the
Indians at Brookfield, Aug. 3, 1675. [This statement is an ERROR!  At this point in time, this
transcriber does not know how John (2) died.  However, The John AYRES who married Susannah,
was of a different lineage, and NOT a son of the John (1) Ayers given here!]  Children: Sarah,
Samuel, John, Thomas, Joseph, Mark, Nathaniel, Edward.  [The children identified - belong to the
true Capt. John AYRES, except he had a daughter Susanna, not Sarah.]

     Robert (2) (John 1), in Haverhill about 1649 (?), freeman 1666, married, 1659, Elizabeth, daughter
of Henry Palmer of Haverhill, and had a son Samuel (3), freeman 1683; married Elizabeth, daughter of
Simon Tuttle.  He was killed by the French and Indians in the attack at Haverhill, Aug. 29, 1708.  His
children were: Obadiah, John, James.  Obadiah (4), born May 9, 1689  (Harvard College, 1710), studied
for the ministry, and died unmarried.

     John (4), born April 7, 1705, married Mary Johnson of Haverhill.  Children: Abigail (unmarried);
Timothy, married Elizabeth White; John of Bradford, Mass., and Concord, N. H.

     Samuel (5), son of James (4), married Ann Hazzen.  Children, all born in Haverhill: Mary, born Dec.
23, 1738, married Samuel Morrison of Sanbornton, N. H.;  Anna, born Sept. 22, 1740, married Deacon
John Kimball of Concord, N. H.; Samuel Nov. 29, 1742, married Sarah Chase of Haverhill; Elizabeth
first; Elizabeth second, died young; Elizabeth third, born June 23, 1748, married Jacob Ela of
Haverhill; Hannah, Aug. 23, 1751, married John Bradley of Concord, N. H.; Ruth, Dec. 1, 1753, married
Dr. Peter Green of Concord; Lydia, Decemaber, 1755; Richard, May 12, 1757, married Susanna
Sargent of Methuen, Mass., and had eleven children, all born in Concord; James, Jan. 1, 1761,
married Mary, daughter of James Brickett of Haverhill.
