     21. 1. AYERS.  F. A. B. M., Aug. 23, 1922.  Since answering the above query I have seen the
histories of Haverhill and Ipswich, Mass., and find the following data:

     John (1) Ayer of Ipswich, Salisbury and Brookfield, Mass., married Susanna daughter of John
Symonds, not Samuel Symonds, and was killed by the Indians at Brookfield, Mass., 1675.  His origin
not stated.  His children wre: John (2), born 1649, married Mary, removed to Boston, died 1711;
Samuel, born 1650, died 1714, married his cousin Abigail, daughter of William Fellows; Thomas,
married, March 21, 1677, Hannah Errington; Joseph, married June 9, 1684 [?not clear], Sarah
Caldwell; Susannah, married ____ Day; Edward, born 1656; Mark Ayer, born July 6, 1664, removed to
Boston.  

     The published vital records of Haverhill [MA] has six full octavo pages containing the names, and
dates of births and deaths of persons bearing the name of Ayer.
