This is all I know of William ROE other than his children went to Texas with Elizabeth APPLEBY and he (William) had reportedly gone on to California and then to Australia where he remarried and was not heard from again.

I know a little bit about the ROE's once they came to Texas but know nothing about them prior to 1850. I cannot find anywhere in the census indexes in KY in 1840 where there are ROE and APPLEBY families in the same county so I cannot guess which county they are from.

Allen Gordon Roe was my ggGrandfather, lived in Waxahachie, TX and was in the Texas Cavalry, 19th Parson's Brigade during the Civil War. He joined when he was 15/16 but lied about his age and said he was 17. He was quite a colorful character.
