William Baker Family

WILLIAM BAKER was born February 05, 1793 in Kentucky, and died September 01, 1850,
probably in Page County, Iowa.
He married SARAH CASTATOR Abt 1816 (probably in Pendleton Co., Ky area), probable
daughter of Peter? CASTATOR and Susannah ?.

Notes for WILLIAM BAKER:

William and Sarah were in Pendleton Co., Kentucky on the 1820
and 1830 census.

There is a record of William buying two parcels of land in
Shelby Co., Indiana in 1831, when they moved there. They are
listed in 1840 and 1850 in Hendricks township. Sons, George and
David are nearby, as are daughters, Rosanna (Rose Ann) and
Catherine, with their husbands.

In the fall of 1850, William and Sarah, with daughters Mary,
Nancy, Prudence and Almira were living in Shelby County,
Indiana. They, along with most of their married children and
many of their friends and neighbors went to Page and Taylor
Counties, Iowa in August 1850. The next record found of Sarah
is in January 1856, when she remarried to Jacob Beaver in
Hawleyville, Page Co., Iowa. She and Jacob are on the 1860 and
1870 Page County census.

Sometime after 1880, Sarah (again a widow) went with William and
Prudence Chase to Washington. She died in Myers Falls, Washington
on 16 April 1891. Her death record verifies that her maiden name
was Castator. Her age is listed as 99.
