Caroline has given me permission to reprint
her story on this page.
When I first read it I felt that it should be
retold and maybe the Lord will lead
the daughter to recognise and make contact.
I know this may be asking a lot but nothing
is impossible with our Lord.
A BIRTH MOTHER'S STORY . . .
Hello, my name is Caroline Ruffo. I am a birth mother in
search of my birth daughter. My hope for this page is
that one day my birth daughter will read this and
contact me.
At the age of 16, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl
born October 6, 1967 in the Connellsville, Pennsylvania
hospital. My parents made the decision to give my child
up for adoption, not one time did they ask if I wanted to
keep my child. For the next 7 months I carried a child
that would be lost to me forever.
My mother contacted her family doctor, who knew of a
couple wanting a child and this is where my child would
be placed. This doctor had a friend that was an
attorney, who did all the paper work for the adoption.
These two people were from the same town in which my
daughter was born. They are both deceased now. They
were a well known couple in Connellsville, at the time of
the adoption.
I just want my daughter to know that she is loved and
has never been forgotten. I have always carried a love
in my heart for her. As I said, my hopes for this web
sight is that one day she will be looking for me, stumble
upon this sight and realize I am her mother and contact
me. We birth mothers carry a love in our hearts like no
other love. We hope and pray that one day we will be
reunited with our birth child.
My thoughts throughout the years were that the people
who adopted her did indeed give her a good home and a
lot of love. I am asking one thing in this life, that I get
the opportunity to meet her and share some kind of life
with her since my parents chose to take her from me.
You might ask what if you never find her, well then I
know it is God's will and I know he has a better plan for
us. We all will meet there one day.

A LETTER TO MY BIRTH DAUGHTER
Dear Maria Evon,
I am writing you this letter to tell you how much I love you and
throughout the years I have never forgotten you and have
never stopped loving you. I never even got to hold you after
your birth. They kept you away from me in the hospital. I left
that hospital with empty arms and a hole in my heart.
No one could ever imagine I felt as of I wanted to die. As time
went on, I never forgot about you. I would see little babies and
wonder if that was you; Wonder if you were OK; Wonder if
you looked like me.
I know my parents really made another couple happy with
giving you to them, but they failed to realize what it would do
to me over the years and it did do a lot to me over all these
years.
I am sure your name is not Maria Evon now. I am also not even
sure you know you are adopted. I pray your adopted parents
did tell you that you were adopted.
This is the only hope I have of finding you. I pray you are
looking for me also and if you find me, you can forgive me and
we can talk and begin some sort of live together. I want you to
know I am sure my parents had a reason for what they made me
do, so please find it in your heart to forgive them as I have.
I want to also tell you that you have two sisters and three
aunts and one uncle. They also want to meet you.
So, my darling daughter, if you are out there, please find me. I
love you and have always loved you.
YOUR MOTHER, CAROLINE.
