Proud American

Although most of my children aren't "kids" anymore... they are still my babies. The oldest is 25 and the youngest just turned 9. My children and my family are my life.  I know this page doesn't do them justice so I have decided to finally add pictures.*LOL*
After receiving this message in my guestbook... I've decided to update this page. *LOL* Well at least the ages of them.

"this page is a big huge, huge, giant, i mean the
biggest lie ive ever seen ever..........

im not 15 im 17 and exactly 4 months away from being 18...thats all for now.

  • Shannon,  the oldest of the seven is 25 years old. Hard to believe that I have a daughter that old. Shannon was born 2 days after my 16th birthday. She has 3 children  Rudy Jr. age 8 and twins Jasmin and James age 7. Shannon and the kids have recently moved in with mom so needless to say our house is full and quite hectic most days!

Several months ago, while living in San Diego, Shannon called as she does almost every week. She told me she had just gotten back from the store with the kids and went on to explain how bratty they were in the store and how frazzled they had her. After a few minutes of complaining about never wanting to take them to the store again she said "Mom, I'm sorry for all the bratty things I did when I was a kid." *LOL*

  • David David is 23, he is going thru a difficult time right now and could use your prayers. David loves sports of all kinds, I think he would sit and watch sports on t.v. all day and never grow tired of watching them. In 1996, his junior year in high school he was named Athlete of the Year for Football, and has won numerous awards for the sports he has played in.

David is afraid of snakes. One day DH and I were shopping at Wal-Mart, we had finished getting the things we needed so we were just walking around looking at things. We wandered into the garden department and saw some blow up snakes and things that are suppose to help keep other animals out of the your garden. Feeling a little mischievous that day we thought "Hey we should get this for David." *L* And we did! That night we blew the snake up and waited, just before it was time for him to be home we put the snake out in the yard in the path of where we knew he would be walking and sat at the window waiting... at first he didn't see it. We opened the door, while he was still several feet from the door just then he looked down and let out a scream, jumped and ran faster than he ever has straight into the house and into his room. We were all laughing so hard it hurt. He says it wasn't funny but it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. *LOL*

  • Robert is 21 and will be graduating from High School this year, in the last class of the century. With his shaved head, baggy clothes and quiet disposition I think most people have the wrong impression about Robert, he looks tough but he's really a big teddy bear. Once anyone gets to know him they realize that first impressions aren't always accurate. He played varsity football and recently got at job at Taco Bell. In his spare time Robert likes to listen to music, his favorite is rap (ugh!) but he listens to almost everything except country. Robert from a very early age has always listened to music and played with anything electrical. I use to get mad at him when he was younger cause he would take apart his toys and anything he could get his hands on to see how it worked. Now that he's older and has taken electronics classes that skill comes in handy every now and then.

Robert is usually the serious one of the family and most of the cute or funny stories I could tell about him would be about him either teasing or playing a joke on one of us. He and Louis are a lot alike, and they fight as though they are the same age.(and Louis isn't mature for his age *LOL*)

  • Monique is 19  Monique  wants to work with animals, more specifically sea life. She loves whales and dolphins...but she collects monkeys. (go figure) Monique's favorite pastime is talking on the phone, she would stay on the phone 24 hours a day if we allowed it. Monique got her first job last summer, she worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Poor child is learning all about good ole Uncle Sam...and was a little miffed when we told her that the more she made the more he took. *L* DH says that Monique is the most like me because of her sarcastic wit and sense of humor. I have no idea what he means by that!

Every once in a while we enjoy going to the beach and driving along the coast. On this particular drive it was just Monique,Tevin and Louis with us. After spending a hour or so at the beach we begin our drive up the coast, we always plan to go to Santa Barbara but never seem to make it ...anyhow... after driving a couple of hours in silence Monique in all her brilliance says "Hey, we're driving on the edge of The United States!" This would of been cute but check Monique's age. We thought it was funny that after a hour at the beach and 2 hours of driving she finally realized we were at the edge of land. *L*

  • Lisa is 15 (im 17 and exactly 4 months away from being 18...thats all for now.), she is in the 12th grade. Lisa wants to be an attorney or doctor (or any profession that makes lots of money) when she gets older.  I think being a trial lawyer would suit her just fine, especially if she keeps up her fine art of arguing. Lisa doesn't have a favorite pastime, unless you count playing with her hair. She'll spend hours doing her hair and I think it looks the same when she's done as when she started. Lisa has become a vegetarian this summer and seems to be serious about it, which must be pretty hard in a house full of meat eaters.

Lisa has always been the talker in the family, and at times it is quite annoying since she always has to have the last word. When she was about 10 years old we were on a family drive and of course she was talking and we all had just about had enough of it. So DH and I came up with an idea that we thought would keep her quiet for a while. We made a bet with her that if she wouldn't talk for 5 minutes we would reward her with anything she wanted...under $20. We were surprised when about 4 minutes into the deal we hadn't heard a peep from Lisa, as we had tried this in the past to no avail. With only a half a minute to go, she cracked and we laughed. Turns out that while we couldn't hear him David was sitting behind her the whole time talking to her. *L* We let her win since it was the longest she had ever gone without saying anything. Now that she's older she not quite as talkative but she still has to have the last word which is usually  "No I don't have to always have the last word"

  • Tevin is 10, but thinks he is 25. His favorite activities are riding his bike and playing games...on the Nintendo and computer, reading anything he can get his hands on and listening to Radio Disney. Recently his older brother, Robert, put his old stereo in Tevin's rooms so now I have 4 rooms with stereos...talk about noise! Tevin's favorite groups are N'Sync and Backstreet Boys. Tevin says he wants to be an actor or singer when he grows up...given his flair for the dramatics I'd say acting is in his future.

A while back DH was talking about a dream he had, in the dream he said he was a stand-up comedian. Tevin asked what that was and DH went on to explain what it was...when he was done explaining Tevin said "Well Pop if you want to be a comedian your going to need to get some funnier jokes." *L*

  • Louis is 9 years old and is the baby of the seven, and he  is the most stubborn of all and the funniest, without even trying to be. We have to keep our eyes on Louie as it seems he is afraid of nothing and will try almost anything if it sounds interesting. Louis likes to watch cartoons, play games on the computer and listen to Radio Disney when he's not outside riding his bike and scooter. He also likes anything electrical...lights as does anything electrical fascinate him. Louis was 12 weeks premature weighing only 2 lbs. 10oz. at birth, he is doing just great now. Last year Louie was diagnosed as being Factor VII, a blood disorder, about the only complication we have had associated to that is frequent nose bleeds. At only 6 years old Louie seems concerned about his future, he says worriedly that he doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up because there are so many things to be...but he thinks he might want to be a "fixer" I think he thinks we might let him start practicing on things around the house.*L*

Trying to think of a cute story to tell about Louie is rather hard...as there are so many, he makes us laugh even when he is in trouble. As soon as one particular one comes to mind I will add it.
