The Cocker Spaniel is the smallest member of the Sporting Group of dogs. It has a sturdy, compact body and a cleanly chiseled and refined head, with the overall dog in complete balance and of ideal size. Males about 15 inches and females about 14 inches in height. The Cocker stands well up at the shoulders on straight forelegs with a topline sloping slightly toward strong, moderately bent muscular quarters. The Cocker is a dog of considerable speed, combined with great endurance. Cockers have a free and merry spirit about them. They especially thrive on the attention given to them by their human families.
