Meet Penny and Buck

Penny and Buck are the horses that live in my pastures right now. Here you can meet them and hear some of their stories. I'm sorry that I don't have a scanner so you can see pictures of them, but I'll try to do my best to describe them here.

Penny:

Penny is the only horse that is actually mine. She is a tri-color tobiano Paint Horse. A Paint Horse has both Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred bloodlines and has large spots all over its body, kind of like a pinto, only pintos can be of any breed. Penny is a nice horse most of the time. Sometimes when she is hungry she wants to do nothing but eat, and there are times when she doesn't want to cooperate for various reasons, but other than that, she is very friendly and responsive when you ride her. Right now she has a sickness called Laminitis, so I can't ride her as much.

Buck:

Buck isn't really our horse, he's just using our pasture. Buck is a kind of horse called a buckskin. A buckskin has a golden-brown coat and is more of a color than a breed. Buck used to be a bucking bronco at rodeos, but now he ropes cows. In my honest opinion, Buck is a very nice horse. He has a very plesant personality and it's fun to be around him. Sometimes he can be very nervous, however, and it's a lot easier to spook him than it is to spook Penny.
