It was a repeat of last year... Silver Charm swept the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, then lost by 3/4 of a length in the Belmont. And this year, it was, shhh! Real Quiet, the Fish, who had only won a few of his previous starts, winning the Kentucky Derby... the Preakness... each time prevailing over Victory Gallop... and then it was the Belmont which he lost to Victory Gallop by a nose! Well, trainer Bob Baffert, previously a trainer of Quarter Horses, seems to be getting closer to the Triple Crown he desires... we'll be watching for you next year, Bob! In the meantime, we'll watch for Real Quiet in later races and see if he really IS the champion-- or if his wins in the Triple Crown races were just a strange fluke of racing luck.
