MONDAY MORNING MOMENTS
Feb. 21, 2000 Vol. V Number 07
William Barclay, famous Scottish theologian and Bible teacher, was on his way by train from Scotland to London for a conference late in the fall. Just a few miles from London he spotted a quaint farmhouse that had been recently whitewashed. In comparison to the bleak English countryside it seemed to be the purest, brightest, white he had ever seen.
However, while he was in London it snowed. On his way home he spotted the quaint little country home again. To his astonishment, it appeared to have taken on a dingy gray appearance. Suddenly it dawned upon Barclay that the difference took place in comparison. When compared to the bleak surroundings, it seemed brilliant; but when compared to the white of the rue, driven snow, its brilliance faded.
We must measure our values, not by the standards of this world, but by the life, words and deeds of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Look at the Nations and watch - and be UTTERLY AMAZED. for I am going to do something in YOUR days that you would not believe even if you were told” Habakkuk 1:5
