MONDAY MORNING MOMENTS Sept. 21, 1998 Vol. III Number 39
Yesterday we talked about service and being a blessing where you are. As you know, this is the time of year that we need volunteers to help make the church and its programs a success. We need choir members, teachers and workers and all the rest. I read this story, which reminds me of our need to be involved in works of service for the church.
Bruce Thielmann, a pastor in Pittsburgh told of a conversation with an active laymen who mentioned. “You preachers talk a lot about giving, but when you get right down to it, it all comes down to basin theology.”
Thielemann asked, “Basin theology? What’s that?”
The layman replied, “remember what Pilate did when he had the chance to acquit Jesus? He called for a basin and washed his hands of the whole thing. But Jesus, the night before his death, called for a basin and proceeded to wash the feet of the disciples. It all comes down to basin theology: Which one will you use.
“Look at the Nations and watch - and be UTTERLY AMAZED. for I am going to do something in YOUR days that you would not believe even if you were told” Habakkuk 1:5
