BE A VOLUNTEER
Wow! What a great service today as we became the “Order of the Towel” As I handed you your towel, and watching you pledge to serve my heart was extremely blessed. I am reminded of a story about Arnold Billie who is a rural mail carrier in southern New Jersey. For the last quarter century his daily route has taken him sixty-three miles through two counties and five municipalities. Mr. Billie not only delivers mail, he brings personal service. Anything you can get at the post office you can get from Mr. Billie - stamps, money orders, and pick up service. All the customer has to do is leave the flag up on the mailbox. One elderly woman has trouble starting her lawn mower, so when she wants to use it, she leaves it by her mailbox and Mr. Billie starts it when he arrives. Who says personal service is snot more? Look around you and you will find many things to enhance the world we live in. Be a Volunteer!
Archbishop Secker used to say, “God has three sorts of servants in the world: some are slaves, and serve him from fear; others are hirelings, and serve for wages; and the last are sons, who serve because they love.
“Look at the Nations and watch - and be UTTERLY AMAZED. for I am going to do something in YOUR days that you would not believe even if you were told” Habakkuk 1:5
