MONDAY MORNING MOMENTS
Mar. 1, 1999 Vol. IV Number 09
I read the obituary of a man’s life the other day that was very interesting. He stated:
He brushed his teeth twice a day with a nationally advertised toothpaste. The doctor examined him twice a year. He wore his rubbers when it rained. He died with his windows open. He stuck to a diet with plenty of fresh vegetables. He relinquished his tonsils and traded in a several worn out glands. he golfed, but never more than 18 holes at a time. He never smoked, drank or lost his temper. He got at lest 8 hours of sleep each night. He was all set to live to be 100.
The funeral was held Wednesday. He is survived by 18 specialists, 4 health institutes, 6 gymnasiums, and numerous health foods and antiseptics.
This man forgot God, lived as if this world was all there was, and now he is with those who say, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jer. 8:20).
There are many such people today - people who think that life consists in the things of this world. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Let each of us take a position by the roadside that leads from Jericho to Jerusalem, and as Jesus passes by, let us pray the prayer that the blind man prayed: “Lord, that our eyes may be opened” (Matt. 20:33). As our Lord had compassion on them and opened their eyes, so will he give to us the capacity to see spiritual reality.
“Look at the Nations and watch - and be UTTERLY AMAZED. for I am going to do something in YOUR days that you would not believe even if you were told” Habakkuk 1:5
