MONDAY MORNING MOMENTS
OCT. 18 1999 Vol. IV Number 39
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Spurgeon writes, "If you are not seeking the Lord, the devil is seeking you. If you are not seeking the lord, judgment is at your heels.
In the Christians life, it's not enough simply to wake up. We are called to run, to become more like Christ, to press ahead in godliness. Isaiah 43 speaks of waiting on the Lord. Sometimes we try to interpret this to mean idleness. But that is not the true meaning of this verse. This wait is not one of rest but rather one of activities. We are always to be busy waiting on the Lord, such as a waitress would be busy getting your meal together. If you are being waited on, then you expect a flurry of activities. Are you waiting on the Lord today???
“Look at the Nations and watch - and be UTTERLY AMAZED. for I am going to do something in YOUR days that you would not believe even if you were told” Habakkuk 1:5
