From left to right Stormy's Riley and Stephanie R's Lillian MICHELLE: "Well, I thoroughly enjoyed Colorado and it's crazy 10 minute weather changes -- but I'm extremely HAPPY to be back!!! Rhiannon survived dad's week with her and she was no worse for wear. Mom wasn't too bad either - I actually did pretty good until I got around those two beautiful babies Lilly and Riley. Meeting Stormy (AKA Tiffany) and Stephanie was GREAT! After the initial confusion over the hotel lobbies, we all got together and headed down to the mall. We stopped in a baby store (can't remember the name of it right now) and enjoyed looking at all the cool baby stuff that I've only seen available in the catalogs. Stormy got her car seat and we all headed off to lunch. The babies all did SO well and little Jacey was just an angel. She was a little sweetie with both her sister and Lilly. She had a hard time resisting Lilly!!! :-) Stephanie was very funny and I was quite impressed with all that she takes on... From her newsletter to her groups, she's quite the busy lady! Her tattoo of Noble's footprints was quite spectacular to see! I felt like the odd man out between her hair and Stormy's hair being SO long!!! Ms. Lilly was just adorable. I was so impressed with all that Lilly can do!!!! I just know that Rhiannon would be extremely jealous to know that she can almost crawl and stands up SO well!!! She was rolling, sitting up by herself, and trying to stand up on her tiptoes from a crawling position.... I just couldn't get over how much she's doing!!! Stormy's house was incredible! Stormy's e-mails really did the rooms no justice! The painting in all the kid's rooms was nothing short of magnificent! The view was incredible too! All the kids were extremely well behaved and all chipped in with the baby. Kelsey and Jacey took turns feeding Riley (in her new highchair) and Kade showed off his new wrestling ring and action figures. The "eldest" (editor's revision here!) didn't show his colors at all and was actually quite sweet with his little sis Riley. Seeing him holding Riley before we left was the most touching sight! Little Scottie (all 6 foot plus of him) was very gracious and looked quite the part of the teenager in his black trenchcoat. Big Scott (AKA Scotch) was quite a gracious host and made sure we were well entertained. He was really great with all the kids and quite a wonderful father! Riley was a sweetie!!! I couldn't resist rocking her to sleep before dinner came. She has the red hair that I always wished my kids would have! She doesn't mind tummy time either - unlike another baby I know named Rhiannon. :-) STORMY: "Steph was right when she said I was late...to the tune of an HOUR..picking her up. Steph and I headed up to Denver chatting all the way as our beautiful Springs weather turned to fog and cold outside of Denver a bit. We drove straight to the hotel without any problems and then decided we'd park and go in to get Michelle. Well, the parking clearance was 6' 4"...which didn't seem like much and I had NO CLUE how tall dh's truck is. So...I played the real hick...not that the cracked windshield (looks like a road map), the crimped door from our wreck, the pickup with the dirt on the side, and my Levi coat weren't enough (I've actually been more of a city girl all my life!) but I hop out like I've never been down a parking garage and ask Steph how much taller the truck is than me! hehe So...we decided we'd chance it...meanwhile I'm having visions of stuffing the roof of the truck cab into one of the overhead beams and having to call dh to break the news! We drive down to the first one...I stop and get out to look...it clears by a couple inches...so we drive to the next LOL...you get the idea...after the first 2 we went for it. When we get to the bottom of the garage ramp...damned if they didn't have like a 5' 6" side!!! LOL Steph told you that we wandered around this nice hotel midst the bellhops and valet parking folks calling Michelle's room from time to time. Miss Riley thinks that's the fanciest place she's ever nursed in! 'Course she's a genuine hick...a real fierce mountain girl! ;) Her mother's just an impostor! We finally found Michelle and believe it or not our truck we found quickly...even though Steph and I were yacking so much we didn't notice what level we parked on! And...we headed out to the Park Meadows Mall...yep...virgin territory! And...like Steph said, couldn't find the mall midst all the other shops, mini-malls, etc. Kind of a cool place if you like malls! We went to The Right Start and had a blast looking at all the kid stuff. Jacey was amazed at the $100 whoozit toy that was bigger than her! (Riley has a mini "moon guy" as Jacey calls them.) I bought my Britax Roundabout which Michelle was gracious enough to haul around for me. Now I'm just hoping the insurance covers the $211 it cost!!!! We also saw the Peg Perego (sp?) items folks here have discussed that I've never even seen before! We sat around and visited and introduced Michelle, Steph, and Lilly to the kids...minus Thomas and Janita who were at their mom's. We took pics of the babes together and of the 3 of us...with Steph and me trying our best to hide our girlish figures behind our babes....OK, O.K....so we'd need like a 100lb babe for it to work but you can't beat a gal for trying! ;) We all got along great and had a wonderful time!! Steph and I both tell blatant lies about our babes I've decided as Lilly (who very rarely laughs according to Steph) cracked up at Jacey and Riley did the same for Michelle! Lilly thrived on all the attention with my 3 rubbing her head and swarming all over her. Riley looked more like she should belong to Michelle than me (no I didn't get time to dye my hair) with their 2 red heads together. The kids, as well as Steph and me, loved the pics of Michelle's Rhiannon with all her curly hair!! Lilly and Riley are both jealous as can be!! Lilly amazed us all by getting up on hands and knees and hands and toes and wanted to crawl over to the kids sooooo bad! Riley rolled around on the floor and enjoyed things just the same. HOW MANY MOTHER'S DOES IT TAKE TO PUT IN A NEW CARSEAT??? The answer...3...with a father telling us the right way to do it as we struggled in the dark and the snow!! LOL (BTW...I positively LOVE my new carseat!!! I could be a poster child for Britax...providing, of course, that the insurance reimburses me for it!!) We left and took Steph and Lilly home and briefly met Steph's dh when we dropped her off in the snow...Steph had called him from the lot via her cell phone to come down and haul Lilly up the stairs! Then we headed out to Denver with me bi*ching all the way about dh's driving...LOL...poor guy! We made it safely to Denver and home again. Although after dropping Michelle off we promptly slid through an intersection in downtown Denver honking the horn all the way and praying we wouldn't splat anyone! We also had another truck try to take us out but made it home safe and sound at 3:30 a.m." |
