"On Wednesday, my mom, Camille, and I left Texas headed for Stormy's place in Colorado. Along the way, we stopped to play at a park in Abilene, I got a miserable cold, and Camille bumped her head on the dresser in the hotel in Amarillo. We got to "The Springs" (as it seems the locals refer to Colorado Springs) on Thursday, but with me being sick and tired, we decided to crash in a motel instead of heading up the hill. Camille and my mom enjoyed the pool until the lightning struck.

The next morning, we played tourist and visited the Garden of the Gods and then drove up to the top of Pike's Peak (14K feet!) -- it was hailing at the top! Next, we headed up to Stormy's house! Woo-hoo! We were finally going to meet the amazing Biz Queen and her Royal crew!

Her directions were perfect and we arrived quite easily to her castle in the sky. As we pulled up to the house, three girls and a dog or two came bounding out, and we were greeted with a cacophony of voices: "tiff's not here", "Would you like a soda?", "Can we carry anything?". We all went in and sat down in the spacious living room -- the three girls were Jacey, Janita, and Kelsey, of course. Stormy, Scott, and Riley were down at the store getting some groceries -- as Stormy put it "Late for her own party" :) The three girls regaled us with all the family secrets, interrupting each other to get all the wonderfully entertaining stories out. Very cute, asking us a million times if we need anything or if they can help empty the car. Derek (aka Devil Pig #1) ventured out of his room, looking very much like a teenager, and said hello in passing.

Stormy, Scott, and Riley came home with mountains of food, and then we got the grand tour of the house. The pictures that she has on her website do not do justice to the wonderful job she has done with the house. The nursery and little boys' room are just wonderful -- she did such a great job painting them! Little Riley had a little bit of trouble adjusting to the new folks; she suffered from an attack of baby stress. The outward sign of baby stress for Riley is covering her ears with her hands. What a sweet baby!

Stephanie, Jim and Lilly showed up a little later. Lilly is amazing! She crawls out to the middle of the floor and then stands up straight! Sometimes she will then put her head on the floor and look between her legs. The three baby girls stood around the exersaucer, stealing toys from each other.

Later on, Kade came home, and he played with the babies. Very sweet boy. Scott barbecued steaks (and gardenburgers) for dinner. Stormy had bought a blender, and it took the whole crew of us to figure out how to use it. But she made some yummy strawberry daiquiris, even made virgin ones for the big kiddos. We all stayed up late talking and had a great time!

The next morning, my mom, Camille, and I went for a walk in the woods behind Stormy's house. Wow! It is SO beautiful out there! Bashful, one of the dogs, accompanied us along the way, chasing off the bears :) In the afternoon, we sat around talking, until my mom and Jim started discussing Platonic reality (?) and the rest of us were scared off :)

The entertainment for the afternoon was a tickle fight between Derek and Janita in the kitchen. Camille just stared at them in awe.

Diane, Tom, and Christine showed up and we took lots of pictures of all the babies. Christine has the most beautiful smile and loved playing with her daddy! Barbecue chicken (and gardenburgers) for dinner. Later on Diane, Christine and Tom left, and I went to bed early with Camille, who was over-excited from all of the commotion and babies.

This morning, Camille woke up at six, and we packed and tried to pick up after ourselves. When Steph and Stormy got up, we sat around and chatted for a while then my mom, Camille, and I took off down the hill for Laramie.

What a great time! Stormy, thank you SO much for having us all up there!"
