September 1998 Moms - Farrell's Meet

On January 31, 1999 (Super Bowl Sunday), the Southern California moms had our little meeting at Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor near San Diego! What fun! Marci, Katrina, and David came down from LA, Connie, her DH Steve, and Andrew came down from the desert, I came down with my DH, Kevin, and Matthew from near the desert, and the San Diego ladies were all there: Lydia, her DH, Fiona, Anna, and Mary; Becca, Vanesah (did I spell that right?) and Sabrina; and Diane, her DH Tom, and Christine.

We sat around for 3 hours talking and having fun (the place was pretty empty, so we stayed) Some of us had burgers and sandwiches, all of us had ice cream. The big girls played lots of games, and the Mommies and Daddies talked, and the babies were just their adorable selves. I think while we were there, every baby ate, (one party pooping baby slept in the middle of everything-- okay, it was baby who can't sleep through the night but can apparently sleep through parties,) and Christine and Sabrina had a contest for the chubbiest cheeks in the world. (You've never had quite the urge to pinch cheeks as you'll have when these two are in a room together!)

It was really nice to finally meet Lydia and Becca (I'd met all the others before, and it's always been nice to get together with them.) Everyone's so nice. And our babies are so wonderful!!

Connie:
Six of us, along with dh's and babes and older kids, all got together at an ice cream parlor near San Diego, CA. It was so much fun, and so neat to meet those who I hadn't met yet!

I forgot my camera, but no worries... everyone else had theirs. :) I'm glad we finally worked it all out so we could get together, and it was definately worth the 1.5 hour drive there. Of course, on the way home, Andrew was so ready to be out of the carseat, that it took us almost 3 hours to get home. :( Oh well.... that's life!)

Becca:
YES - we had a blast. And all of our babes are so darn cute. Christine and Sabrina do have quite pinchable cheeks I must say ( Sabrina has slightly chapped cheeks from all the kisses dh and I pour on them every day). Dh's even seemed to have a good time. The place was empty - due to the Superbowl so the older girls (4 total - all the same age) were free to roam the entire restraunt. Fiona's hair and shoes were all the rage according to Vanesah. And speaking of cheeks - Mary has the cutest little dimpled cheeks you've ever seen. And Andrew's eyes are beautiful. And Matthew jr.s smile - lights up a room. Marci was having a hard time with baby David but he was the absolute sweetest babe. Just so lovey towards his momma. Of course Vanesah wants to know when our next outing is so she can see all the "cool new girls" she met at Farrell's. So when is it?!?!?!

But seriously, it was a great time and I felt just so special to be part of such a wonderful group of women.
