Photos KELLY "To put it simply...it was great...definitely a success!! I want to meet some more... I'm hooked! LOL Corey, Morgan and I left Friday afternoon at 2pm to do a couple of errands and to go to Poughkeepsie, which is where we were meeting. Corey and I had decided to make a relaxing weekend out of the whole thing while we were at it so we booked the hotel room for Fri and Sat nights. We got to Poughkeepsie around 9pm and the trip was fairly uneventful except for a short wrong way excursion (sp?) and a bout of fussiness when Ms. Morgan was tired and wanted her evening nap just NOT in her carseat. Oh well...she's becoming quite the traveler. :-) Saturday morning we left the hotel and ventured out to Barnes & Nobles to see what we could find. We ended up buying a delightful book for Morgan and nothing for ourselves (other than a shared danish and juice and coffee). We then headed for the mall. We met up with Jo, Robert & Benito in front of MW and then Jo & I decided to go find Lisa and Karen. We left the babies with their daddies and wandered on over to JC Penney. We see these 2 women & babies and I holler out Lisa & Karen? We got the strangest look!! Jo said "We don't have the babies with us". We went back and got the guys and let all the babies meet each other. I must say that they were all just precious and all so well behaved. The only person that shocked me was Jo...she looked nothing like I thought... I'm not sure WHAT I thought she would look like...but I was surprised. I think we all got along pretty good and it was fun just sitting around talking and then wandering around looking at stuff. Corey and Robert are both great with the babies and gave Jo and I time to shop and eat. While we were having lunch at Sbarro's pizza... Corey let Morgan suck on his slice of pizza... I just laughed and she loved it! We got a few pictures because she grabbed it with both hands and he just let go. She was fine until he decided to take it away...ooh she fussed.... but stopped quickly when I produced the baby food. LOL... my baby girl just loves to eat. :-) After having Hagen-Daz as a snack/dessert, we took group photos. Corey got a picture of all the babies together but it is on the NEW roll of film...so we will try to hurry and use it up so we can get that pic out to everyone! Jo, Robert and Benito had to leave early which was a bummer. I would love to have been able to spend more time with all of them. Jessica is great. She adopted Karen and Kristin but took turns walking and entertaining all the babies. She is a true delight and has a great, bubbly personality. Lisa, Jessica, and Alison just us at our hotel for a little afternoon break before meeting Karen and Kristin for dinner at Bugaboo Creek... a really neat steak house. We had a long wait but all the girls were just wonderful. All in all it was a great visit and we would LOVE to get together with everyone again or meet others...we aren't picky! LOL KAREN "We had a GREAT time!!!!!!!!!!!! The babies were just angels.....and soo cute! We couldn't have asked for better-behaved, more adorable babies. And Lisa's Jessica was just a doll......told me A LOT of jokes! Kristin just loved her.......Jess had her cracking up! I told Kelly that I need a Jess at home to entertain Kristin....my kids lose interest much too quickly! Gotta work on them....LOL!!! Anyway, we met at 11:30 in front of Wards AND Penneys......Lisa and I met at Penneys (I was a little late, had to get gas for my van) and Jo and Kelly met at Wards. Right after I met Lisa, two women call my name and start walking towards us. I probably gave them a funny look, since they didn't have babies! I thought they can't be Kelly and Jo! LOL!!! They had left the babies with their respective dhs by Wards. I had seen pix of Kelly before, but not Jo and Lisa. They didn't really look like I thought they would. I think you take a memory of someone you once knew with that name and "super-impose" it on list members!!! LOL!!! Corey and Robert were very nice....my dh can't believe they were able to follow us around at a mall all day! (Can you tell....he HATES malls!!! LOL) We met right around lunchtime, so the food court was packed! (But it seemed to be packed all day though.....I can't believe how crowded that mall gets on Saturdays!) So we walked to the other end of the mall to the pizza place. We were able to put 4 small tables together in a corner, so it worked out really well! We were really able to talk....and talk and talk! LOL!!! Morgan had her first taste of pizza......and boy was she MAD when Corey took it away from her!!! LOL!!! Too cute!!! She had to settle for Gerber... Afterwards (we hung out there a long time), we walked around the mall, did mostly window-shopping. I had been there the day before so I didn't buy anything....except food. We got a lot of comments on the baby parade, a lot of smiles and chuckles. Jessica seemed to adopt Kristin for awhile........much to Kristin's delight! :) Awhile later, we all stopped for Haagen Dazs......yum! Jo, Robert, and Benito had to leave early....wish they could have stayed! Around 4:30 or so, we decided to meet at 6:00 for dinner, at Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse. Corey, Kelly, Morgan, Lisa, Jessica, and Alison all headed to Kelly's hotel room for a breather, and I headed home. Kristin got a chance to "stretch her legs", and I was able to change her soaked outfit....boy can that girl dribble! LOL! I got to BUgaboo at 6, and at 6:10 went inside to get a table. They gave me a pager and told me it would be an hour wait! Yikes! I went outside to wait for the others. Kelly called a few other nearby restaurants, but they all had long waits too, so we stayed. The babies were remarkably good!!! Exactly an hour later, the pager went off, and we were seated. We had two booths back to back, so Kelly and her family sat at one, and Lisa and I at the other. Kristin and Alison's high chairs (with carseats on top) were right next to eachother, and SO many people kept commenting, "Are they twins?" LOL!!! Well, they both have blond hair and are about the same size.........I guess that is all they could really see from the back/top! Everyone was well-behaved again....it was a very nice meal....and VERY filling!!! Jess was the only one who got dessert...a yummy ice cream sandwich came with her kids' meal. I got home close to 9 PM, exhausted! Kristin was SO tired! She slept very well that night. I had such a good time......it was wonderful to meet everyone! I can't wait to do it again sometime! JO All the way home, Robert and I kept saying we had had so much fun. It was great to see everyone. They looked nothing like what I had imagined. Except Karen, whose description I had remembered. Lisa looks like my favorite aunt, not in age but in features. Kelly and Corey were a complete surprise. I guess I imagined Kelly looking like a lady in my doc's office, sort of short, but with long red hair. WRONG! Karen and I found some fun sales in MW, but we lost Lisa and Kelly and I never made it back to the racks. I did find a great baby outfit for easter (spring like outfit, anyway) at another stop, so I was pleased. Jessica was so cute and well-behaved. She whistled and told stories, and stayed right with the group, holding onto Alison's and Kristin's hands. Robert said she was a perfect little person. Lisa, tell her we liked her very much. :) We had to leave early to go to a party, and it was so loud with all the talking, after spending a few hours in a mall, that Benito was over- stimulated. I told Robert we should leave, but he was waiting for me to drag him out, and for once, I didn't want to look like the nagging wife I am. He came to find me just as the Holyfield fight was beginning (over an hour later), so we had to stay for that, too. Another hour. Babe was sleeping, but the TV was still loud. Didn't get home til 1:30 am! Anyway, we'll have to do it again. The NY gathering, not the party. Can't wait to see the pics. Benito was one happy dude, among all the girls. :) LISA THOMPSON "Just got back about an hour ago from the NY gathering. It was alot of fun! In attendance were: Kelly, Corey & Morgan, Jo, Robert & Benito, Karen & Kristin, me, Jessica & Alison. We spent the day eating and shopping. (Two favorite female activities - lol!) The babies were, of course, all remarkably well behaved. :) We got several comments on our "baby parade" of 4 babies strolling through the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall. At dinner, a couple of people asked Karen & I if Alison and Kristin were twins. I find this pretty humorous as they look nothing alike other than having blonde hair and being the same age. (Goes to show that you should take people's comments about who the baby looks like with a large grain of salt! ;-) ) Kelly took the most pictures, so I'm sure she'll be posting something soon." |
