Family Stuff -- We're busy
getting ready for a trip to Hawaii on the 23rd.
Steve's incredibly generous parents are celebrating
their anniversary by taking the entire family to
Hawaii -- can you believe it?!! We don't travel much
so this is really going to be an adventure. I'm a
little nervous about how Joey and Sean are going to
do on the flight (Joey sitting still for six hours?
Keeping Sean happy in one position for that long?)
but they'll probably do just fine (let's hope!). My
packing list is a mile long (little kids sure require
a lot of paraphernalia) and I hope United Airlines
has a very generous baggage allowance! I'll be sure
to write about our trip after we're home and include
lots of pictures.
Rhiannon -- Rhiannon is coming to
Hawaii with us of course and then she'll be staying
here until mid-August. We're really looking forward
to spending most of summer with her. Lots of her
friends live in town so I'm sure she'll have a lot of
fun catching up with them (she moved to a new city a
few years ago and doesn't get to see her old friends
too often). Here are some pictures
of Rhiannon.
Michael -- Mike is getting ready
for Freshman Football. He's trying to get in
"football shape" by going to the high
school weight room and running nightly. Two-a-day
practices start late-August and I think he knows what
he's in for! The worst part will probably be waking
up early -- Mike's been sleeping until 2 p.m. or so
every day since summer vacation started! Mike's also
looking forward to summer camp in August with his
church's high school youth group. Click here for some
pictures of Michael.
Joey -- Little Joe is as wild as
ever, boundless energy and super intense. He
(usually) does well at preschool and the teachers
have started rewarding him if he stays still and
quite at naptime (they gave up hoping he'll actually
sleep!). Joey enjoys the social interaction at school
and especially loves riding the big bus to their
weekly field trip destinations. Joey and Sean are
playing together more frequently and often sit in
their room and have laughing contests -- quite
adorable. Joey can't wait to ride the big plane to
Hawaii -- let's hope he behaves on the flight! Here
are some photos of our little Joe.
Sean -- Our little 7-month-old is
growing so fast and with each new stage we feel both
joy and sadness. He's probably our last baby and we
really wish we could suspend time for just a little
while. Sean already is working on his sixth tooth and
is sitting like a champ. He very rarely cries and
absolutely loves playing with his toys. We're
introducing all sorts of new foods but he hasn't
seemed too interested thus far. I'm still nursing
Sean and, although I've thought about weaning him, he
refuses to drink a bottle. Oh well, I should count my
blessings that this one baby stage has lasted this
long. Sean is an angel and I swear he's the most
loving and peaceful little boy on earth. Want to see Sean's pictures?
Steve -- The last few months have
been quite stressful at Steve's work since they
announced plans to sell his division. Just like
selling a house, prospects have been coming in on a
daily basis and the uncertain future is
nerve-wracking. A sale is now close at hand and with
it a different level of anxiety. On the bright side,
the project Steve has worked on for years --
prematurely exploding artillery shells electronically
-- is getting stellar reviews from the Army customer.
They've been shooting artillery, mortars and rockets
at the "box" for five weeks at the Yuma
Proving Grounds in Yuma, Arizona. The boys in the
Army will really appreciate this product.
Julianne -- Let's see. . .what's
up with me? Nothing too exciting to report. My word
processing workload has been tremendous and I'm
grateful for that. I just wish I could get more of it
done during the day so I could sleep at night for a
change! I've been having a lot of fun with my web
page. It's been quite a learning experience and I've
spent a lot of time doing it when I should have/could
have been sleeping. Oh well. Tell me you think it's
worth it! Hey, just think, now I can offer my clients
custom web pages (who needs more than an hour sleep a
night anyway?!). . .
