52nd Regiment NC Troops

Family stories maintaining that my Great Great Grandfather lost a leg in the War Between the States, I endeavored to discover more about the war, and his participation in it. I was lucky enough to find him in the 1890 census of the United States; in case you don't know, that census was mostly burned in Washington, DC in the 1920's. His records on that census indicated that he was with the 52nd Regiment, Company H, and my search began. I knew that there had to be records concerning individual troops movements, and boy! are there. Having gone to so much trouble, it only seems fair that the fruits of my labor be shared with the internet community at large. Here, then, are the records I discovered, concerning the 52nd Regiment NC troops, with special emphasis on Company H, the Spring Hill Guards.

This is a document written by the regiment adjutant, John H. Robinson, in 1901, listing the movements of the regiment during the war. There are quite a few pages to this document, so I have divided it into easy to load pieces.
