We began our journey with this wonderful breed in December of 1989, when we purchased our first Collie, a sable headed white, Debbie's Elegant Lady. At the time, we had no plans to show or breed, we just wanted the wonderful companionship of these lovely creatures. These plans changed, however, as we learned more, and acquired more collies. We began showing and breeding in 1991, and it has been a continual learning experience, that has brought us more pleasure than we ever imagined. Located in Mexico, NY (about 40 miles north of Syracuse), the winters here are wonderful for growing coats, but are very challenging, as we are in Lake Ontario's infamous snow belt. July 19, 1989 - April 17, 2000

Our love affair with the collie began when we brought Lady home as a puppy. She was the ultimate "mother" to all the rest of the collies that came after her. There are no words to describe what Lady meant to us. She spent her golden years taking care of her "brood" here at LochWynde, human as well as canine. She epitomized the term "True Collie Temperment". We said goodbye to our girl in the early spring of 2000, at the age of 10 1/2. We know she is with Cricket and Nukie......waiting till we are together again.
