Sunbonnet Sue and the Coyote Kid
Hi! I'm Susan Nixon, mother, wife, quilter, quilter, and retired elementary teacher.
There I am in the hat. For years, since my name is Susan, I've used the logo of the Sunbonnet Sue. These days, I'm DesertSky, because of where I live, because I love it here in the Sonoran Desert,.
The coyote is my wonderful (and modest) son, Regan, who originally set this page up for me, and who gently walked me through editing and html info. He has infinite patience, fortunately!
I've reared two children (my sons, Regan, and, Paul III), and now I have a granddaughter, Kiley May Nixon, born in June, 2005. I also educated a veritable horde of children in my twenty-eight years as an elementary school teacher, and still maintain contact with some of them. You can go to my main site and connect to my science and poetry project pages, as well as other educational information.
I've lived in the most beautiful place on earth - the Sonoran Desert - for many years. It's teeming with life and beauty, in spite of the disadvantages of low rainfall and high heat. I wouldn't want to live permanently anywhere else, except possibly the slightly higher desert in Catron County, New Mexico. I never have to shovel my sunshine. =;)
Last May, we sold our home and took to the road fulltime in our 30 ft. Arctic Fox fifth wheel. We are having the time of our lives, and have no intention of stopping any time soon. You can see more of our travel pictures, and some quilting related pictures, here. I discovered digital photography!
