Safety In The Information Age

January 1998

Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to the online edition of "Safety in the Information Age." We invite you to study it.

The Internet is a wonderful world of new opportunity for children and adults. More and more, our children and grandchildren are using the World Wide Web. Even if you don't have the Internet at home, there are always neighbors, libraries, and schools where the Internet is available.

Are you aware of the hidden dangers in this powerful new tool? While the Internet provides wonderful new information, our children can be exposed to inappropriate material of a sexual or violent nature, and to messages that harass and demean them. As concerned neighbors, we have prepared this website which will help your family. Use the information to strengthen and educate yourselves.
