I. Bazel Files FOYLES. Family  remember when Bazel came home from the war. They say that lice was abundant in that time, so Bazel stopped off in the woods and had some family members bring him clean clothes, soap, etc so he could bathe before intering the home. *have heard some say he came here from France and some say he was indian or at least part indian. He served in the Civil War, and according to his war records was held prisoner at Haddocks Cross Roads in 1862.
He was born on 12/6/1815 at Onslow County, NC. He married Delila SEWELL on 3/13/1849 at Onslow County.
He married Elizabeth SKIEN, daughter of Frances SKIENS and Lannie YOUNG, circa / /1859. He died on 6/22/1885 at Lenoir County, NC, at age 69. He was buried on 6/23/1885 at Old JW Daley Cemetery, Behind Hickory Hills Trailor Park, Lenoir County, NC.
