children and teens may find this a way to cope with the situation -- by
reaching out to
some of the children most directly effected by
the tragedy. Please feel free to forward this to other
youth serving agencies.

The
Brooklyn Public Library
is willing to receive and distribute cards and letters of support for
our thousands of children, teens, and their
families. We intend to distribute these DIRECTLY to
our children and teens through our Central Library
Youth Wing and our 58 Branch libraries. The current
population of children and teens in Brooklyn
is 643,752 (Brooklyn, Kings County, is New York State's
most populous county).
Whenever
possible, we would prefer that cards and letters be separated into 3 categories:
Elementary, Middle, and High School groupings.
