Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that
has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so that they can run and
play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends there
are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to
perfect health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again just as we remember them in our dreams of years and times gone by. The animals
are happy and content, except for one small thing- they each miss someone very
special to them, who had to stay behind when the beloved pet went away.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks
up -- the bright eyes are intent, the body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from
the group his body flying over the green grass, his legs hurrying faster and faster.
You have been spotted, when when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The sweet loving kisses rain
upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more
into the trusting eyes of your dear pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Sarah came into my life as a result of two skunks tearing up my home. I live in the country and wildlife prevails. I bought her home one Sunday and she filled my life with joy and of course, a few inconviences. With 60 acres, you would think that she would stay home...Nope..she love to run...no containing Sarah..When all attempts to keep her home failed, I put her on a chain and I beleived I was protecting her...She had her house and swimming pool. A friend gave me a dog run. I was happier, this would give her a little more freedom while I was at work. This was the only time she would be on a chain. On the forth of this month, July 2001, I lost Sarah...I only pray that it was quick and she did not suffer. She was on that dog run for less than 3 hours. PLEASE,PLEASE if you love your pet, DON'T PUT THEM ON A CHAIN. My heart is so broken over losing her. The Rainbow over the bridge must be THEIR LOVE shining back thru OUR TEARS. I will miss you little girl. If this pain will prevent someone else from losing their pet..then my little Sarah would not have died in vain. Chains and dogruns, they are very dangerous. Animals have two basic instincts...to fight and to run. When they get in trouble that is all they can do. The what "if's" will be with me forever...but if this will open someones eyes to the dangers of chains and dog runs..each life saved will be in her honor.
I will miss you so very much I am sorry.

Please return to this site. In this journey, I hope to be able to offer places of comfort that I find for anyone suffering the grief of losing their pet. This is my first step in accepting what happen and to not let Sarah death mean nothing. My heart is broken. In time, I will return to this site and finish.
