I am looking for the ancestry of
Henry D. Huntington
who was born in 1823. The family bible says
he was from New York. He married
Jane Anne "Ginny" Moore of Newberry, South Carolina.
According to the book ANNALS OF NEWBERRY
'H.D. Huntington, serving in the Confederate Army
was wounded at Williamsburg in 1863 while scounting'.
In the 1870 Census it states that he was a
Rail Road Carpenter.
He died in 1880 in Newberry, South Carolina

I also am looking for the history of his son
Harry David Huntington or H. D. Huntington
His death certificate states that he
was the 'Foreman of a Smelter', most likely in Jerome, Ariz.
The only census I found him in was in 1880, when he was a child.
Harry David married Nettie CRANMER Benjamine
in the state of New Mexico
Because of his age at the time of their marriage in 1908
He would have been 37 years old it leads me to believe
that he may have been married before. His marriage
license says he was from Nevada. Perhaps he was
married in that state. He died in 1921 in Clarkdale, Arizona
He probably went by the name of David.

Family legend has it that Harry David was educated by
Collis P. Huntington, and that Collis P. was an uncle.
I did clear up that C.P. was not his uncle.
