INSTRUCTIONS
                                             
             This genealogy is set up by what I call the generation breakdown system rather
      than to use the conventional pedigree charts, forward lineage charts, etc. This I have
      done to conserve space in the following information and many more paqes that would
      be required to record the information that is compiled.

             I have also used a numbering system that identifies each person, for example, I
      am person number 10.11 Bumpus, Lynn Albert.  In the family index I am located on page
      713, which shows that information on me is located on pages 414 and 529, thus I go to
      page 414 and find that I am listed as a son of Georqe Hiram Bumpus g.p 9.6 and Ella
      Lorana Wyman g.p 9.6.m. It also shows all of my brothers and sisters and information
      about my mother and father. I then go to page 529 and find that I am listed under my
      number 10.11 and it shows who I married, my children and information about myself.

             It also, directly under my childrens names, gives my lod:(Line of Descent))
      10.11(9.6, 8.7, 7.11, 6.26, 5.33, 4.18, 3.9, 2.4, 1.1).
             In that, I know that all of the numbers in the g.f column are in numerical order
      I can then go back through the book to my preceding numbers and find my direct
      lineaqe back to 1.1 which is Edward Bompasse, Thus:
             10.11  = Lynn Albert Bumpus
             9.6    = George Hiram Bumpus
             8.7    = Howard Covil Bumpus
             7.11   = Hiram Abiff Bumpus
             6.26   = Jesse Bumpus
             5.33   = Seth Bumpus
             4.18   = Salathiel Bumpus
             3.9    = Edward Bumpus
             2.4    = John Bumpus
             1.1    = Edward Bompasse

             You too can use the procedure I have out lined above to find the lineage on any
      person that you wish.


             I would like to add here that I have much more information on members of the
      family that you will not find in the following as I have not been able to definitely
      connect them. My hobby is study of the family history and this I will continue to do
      until I am no longer able.  The information that I have and could not definitly prove I
      will continue to work on and it may be that someday I will he able to add much more
      to what you will find here.
