Thanks to all who sent in tickets for the Eastern Seaboard District ACRY's 50/50 Scholarship Fund Giveaway. We collected $862.00 of which $431.00 will go into the ESD ACRY's Scholarship Fund so that we can continue to award scholarships to ACRY members who want to further their education! • Sonya (Kaminsky) Flanagan of St. John’s Church (Silver Lane), Stratford, CT will participate in the Rock-n-Roll Marathon in San Diego, CA, in June 2001. The 26.2 mile marathon raised funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
• Major Gregory Krochta of St. John’s Church (Silver Lane), Stratford, CT, is a finalist for Thunderbird Advance Pilot/Narrator Program in the United States Air Force. Greg is currently based in California with his family and just completed a special assignment in Greece for one year.
• The First Holy Confession and Communion class at St. John’s Church, Bridgeport, CT include: Marc Barna, William Barna, and Matthew Fazekas.

• Manville ACRY #24 recently took on the ESD ACRY’s Spring Semester College Student Care Package project. Chapter members gathered items to send to district college students away at school during the spring semester. If you have a college aged student who lives away at school and is within the Eastern Seaboard District ACRY limits, please forward his/her address to Maryann Hudak (201.823.0305) so that he/she can be included in next semester’s mailing!
• Stratford ACRY #23 (Silver Lane) sponsored a 50/50 Giveaway to benefit the Eastern Seaboard District ACRY’s Scholarship Fund in June. Thanks to all who purchased tickets throughout the diocese!
• Parishioners and friends in the New England Deanery formed a regional chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society recently. The organizational meeting took place at St. John’s Church, Bridgeport, CT, on April 28^th. Professor Paul Bet of the Political Science Department of Southern CT State University spoke at the meeting on Rusyn cultural, political and philanthropic efforts in the homelands.
• Self-denial banks were used by the Parishioners of St. John’s Church, Bridgeport, CT during this past lenten season.
• St. John’s Church (Broadbridge Avenue), Stratford, CT will celebrate its 50^th Anniversary on Sunday, June 24^th. Following hierarchical services the parish is holding a family picnic at Holy Ghost Church Picnic Grounds in Shelton. The all day affair will include entertainment, amusements for the children, and lots of food!

The Potomac chapter sponsored a clothing drive for the Shady Grove Pregnancy Center during the months of March and April, 2001.

Chapter #25 organized the Father's Day luncheon for the parishioners, as well as for the guests present for the ordination to the Diaconate of Deacon Nectarios Trevino on June 17th.
