Hi! We're Philip and Sandy.
Our tiny harbor on the web was created on May 1st, 1998.

This is going to be our little nook that family and friends can visit for snippets of our lives, our views, and other tidbits. Our interests are wide and varied. More will be added as time goes on.

Why the 7th Wave? Well, waves generally come in sets. Usually that set consists of 7 waves with the 7th being the rogue, the larger, the unexpected one. That is the way life should be. There is nothing wrong with living life in the regular group of waves. Things go as expected regular and safe. But we like to live looking for the 7th wave now and then. Without the rogue, life is just too regular. No excitement, no surprises, it is not much of a life. One can not always live on the crest of the 7th, but now and again it is the spice that makes life fun!

In Aug., 1998, we took a trip back to my past. My parents are teachers and during the summer months, they would get a job at a summer camp. For several years, we lived and worked at a Y.M.C.A. camp in southern Missouri near the town of Potosi. There was two camps along the banks of Sunnan Lake. One was geared for kids only and the other was for families and small groups. We worked at Trout Lodge, the camp for the families. Mom would run the craft shop and the activities programs while Dad managed the waterfront boating and swimming. It was a great way to spend the summer. My sisters, brother, and I were camp brats that had the run of the place. I would get into just about everywhere and got to do everything. I learned to love the woods and nature in all her glory.

In Aug, 1998. we went back for a bit of a family reunion and spend a week there. There has been a lot of changes, but there was a lot that was still the same. I had fun revisiting the ol’ stomping ground and showing my children some of where I played.

Here are some pictures of the trip. The camp is nestled in the foot hills of Missouri and deep in the Mark Twain forest. It really is a very pretty and peaceful setting.
