9.06.04 - Wow, back in Prescott! Sweet! And a shiznit load of work to accompany my arrival (sorry for the fizzle, but censorship is just more fun that way). This semester's classes are as follows:
MONDAY - WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY
Calculus III  - 0800 - 0900
Literature - 0910 - 1010
Physics III - 1240 - 1340
Microprocessors - 1350 - 1450
TUESDAY
Microprocessors Lab - 0910 - 1150
Physics III Lab - 1740 - 2020
THURSDAY
Calculus III - 0800 - 0900
So far, favorite class is Microprocessors, my professor is incredibly knowledgeable (he was one of the people involved with designing the first microprocessor) but the guy is also moderately crazy, and that appeals to me, because one day I want to be a crazy old man too.  Least favorite class so far is Literature. Now don't get me wrong, I love literature, I read all the time. But the professor just angers me on a level I can't even comprehend with her structure and dry sarcasm and disregard for students. Perhaps it will get better later, but right now I hate it. HATE IT. I'll just read the assignments, do the homework, take the tests, and do my best not to jump up in class and begin beating her repeatedly with one of those long dry erase erasers while chanting, "NO! THAT'S A BAD PROFESSOR! NO BEING STUPID AND EVIL! NO!" Hmm... I wonder if they make those sub-audible dog whistles that are only audible to evil professors. That would be nice...

8.23.04 - I haven't posted here in a while, as my good friend Kory has repeatedly nagged me. So much has happened, how do I start? I guess it would be best to subdivide this into 3  subjects: Work, Play, and The Beach.
Work: Holy Crap! There's so much of it! I have been running all over the Inyo National Forest programming radios, installing repeaters on mountaintops, fixing radio equipment that has gotten broken somehow (the guys working for the Fire part of the Forest Service actually use their handheld radios as hammers! DAMNIT, STOP BREAKING YOUR RADIOS, SO I DON'T HAVE TO KEEP FIXING THEM!) One of the biggest perks to the job is even though its a load of work, the workload often requires overtime (ka-ching!) and usually requires frequent trips from 4,000 feet up to elevations as high as 14,000 (Mt. Whitney, 14,494 ft, tallest mountain in the continuous US). This is accomplished using 3 modes of transportation: 4X4 vehicles, Bell 407 helicopters, and of course, a lot of use of my own two legs. But hey, it's working! The new repeater system for the Inyo National Forest is up and running, with only a few bugs on certain radio tones that will be worked out soon.
Play: Of course, all of this work cannot possibly take place without an equal amount of anti-work, the Ying to the Yang of productivity; Play. It's been a crazy summer, hangin' out with all of my great friends here in Bishop! At the beginning of the summer Kevin and I did quite a bit of quadding, which was awesome, in addition of some night paintball games in which the only light illuminating the field is that which emanates from a small flashlight affixed to my gun, making for some VERY intense games of Speedball and Rescue the Hostage. The fun continued through the nights of hanging out in cars, driving aimlessly around Bishop with music blasting as loud as it we could get it to overcome the shrill deafening shrieks of all of us singing along (Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen has never been butchered so brutally). My month late birthday was a blast in more ways than one, moving quickly from a standard cookie-cutter birthday party with cake, ice cream and pizza into explosive devices being thrown into my pond and makeshift flamethrowers spewing liquid fire all over the road in front of my house. I love having crazy friends :).
The Beach: I spent two weeks this summer with two of my best friends and my family at Morro Bay, California. Kevin, Kory and I all got the opportunity to spend a couple weeks body boarding and attempting surfing. I am proud to announce that yes, 4 seconds of standing is my personal best! 4 SECONDS! WOO HOO! Of course, an accomplishment of this nature is never achieved without a ration of pain (PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT CLICK ON THIS LINK IF YOU GET QUEASY AT THE SIGHT OF GASHES AND CUTS!!! Although it's not much of a wound, it's the first I've ever gotten surfing! And I'm proud of it, damnit!) Anywho, fun was had by all involved, whether it was done surfing on the beach, kayaking through caves and overhangs around Cayucos, hanging out in San Louis Obispo or eating lunch at Taco De Mexico practically every day.
In all, It has been a great summer vacation, and I owe every one of my friends here an enormous thanks for making it so freakin' awesome! But alas, everything must come to an end sometime, and now is the time to go back to school and rejoin my Prescott friends for another blast in a different setting! Until next summer you guys, have a great year, and for those of you Prescott people, I'll see you guys Wednesday the 25th!

7.6.04 - Wow, it's been an EXTREMELY busy week. I started work last Monday, and since then I have been working at over 10,000 feet elevation outside every day.  See, here's the deal:
1) At first, the Forest Service had loads of frequencies on a scale from around 170 something to 180 something megahertz.
2) Politicians in their infinite wisdom decided that they could get some money by selling half of these frequencies to some public users, telling them that the trade would be complete on January 1, 2005.
3) Now it's up to me and the two guys I work with to revamp the entire forest's radio system with these new frequencies and call it a happy name such as "the upgrade to narrow band!" Yay!
So anywho, we all have a LOT of work to do involving reprogramming every radio on the forest, installing new equipment on every mountaintop repeater site in the forest (via helicopter and 4WD :)), and still finding time to do the basic work like fixing radios and, more importantly, goofing off.
Over the weekend I was also busy setting up 2 fireworks shows in 2 days. On Saturday was the Paiute Palace show and on Sunday was, of course, the Airport Independence Day show. Both shows went well, both were beautiful and both had product that exploded in the tubes causing some interesting effects. Crappy Japanese pyrotechnics. Bah. Anyways, I will try and get some cool pics from this whole week up within the next day or so.

6.26.04 - As you may have noticed, I have reworked the way dates are placed on this page, starting with this post. They no longer have /s, they now have .s. Pretty cool? I thought so. Well my friends, I am back in Bizhap, currently working on renovating the hizouse (yeah, so I'm white. if 14 year old loser kids that have no musical taste can act black, so can I!). It is a lot of hard work, but it's not too bad, get to see my family, hang out with my Bishop friends, and just generally screw around. Two days ago I went with Kevin and Kory out into the Tungsten Hills to go quadding (for those of you who don't know what that is, it's also called ATVing). That was awesome, did some major just plowing through the hills and flying through water and witnessed Kory getting stuck in a pool of stagnant dead-and-rotting-fish-smelling nastyness. Andrea came over too, it was nice to see her again after a long time. And there are a lot of people I still haven't seen, so if you still haven't gotten around to stopping by or calling, DO SO! Anywho, I got to run, so I will see you all later!

6/15/04 - Well people, 2 days until the last day of classes, and 6 days until hell day (both finals, 10 minutes between them). In the meantime I am posting my Penguin page, an page of pics of cute little Penguins. Yay. Anywho, enjoy the Penguins, and I look forward to the end of school and coming home! Adios amigos y amigas!

6/10/04 - Exactly one week 'till the last day of classes. I honestly can't wait to go home. I like school, but I am VERY ready to come back and rejoin the intellectual void that is the redneck community of Bishop, CA. I criticize because I love; I love my wonderful family and my great friends there, and I actually can't wait to come home, eat dinner with my family, hang out with my friends, and build some stuff at work. Like I said, I like school, but it's a refreshing change of pace to be able to hang out at home for a while before getting back to the constant demands of school. My finals are on the 21st, and I will be coming home ASAP afterwards.

6/03/04 - As many of you know, yesterday was my birthday, it was awesome. Started out going to Calc II, got done with it, worked on the homework, then decided, "You know what, I haven't ever skipped Geography. And I REALLY don't want to go today. It's my birthday, so you know what? Screw it! I'm going home!" And that is what I did. :-). So there. If you have any complaints, please feel free to file them here. For the rest of you, it was a truly great birthday. On a separate subject, the web cam only works when it wants to...so give it a try, but chances are it won't like you. I am working on this problem (not really, but ya know, I'll get around to it). I will TTYL guys!

5/30/04 - Just got back from going to the Grand Canyon yesterday with Stuffer. Rob is out of town, and we decided we needed to get out of Prescott for a little while. Quite a hike, 5 miles each way, over 3000 vertical feet. Pics are posted in the My Pictures section (see above, in the green), so check it out!

5/25/04 - Well, I am going to experiment with something. I am trying to make a webcam work on this website, so you all can see the boring hours of studying and long hours of me not being in my room. You can also see how messy my room is, and comment on it amongst yourselves, as I am sure you are doing to this day. Anywho, the link is above, enjoy, and hopefully I can get this thing working!

5/20/04 - Not much happening, waiting for some student loans to process....grr. NOT looking forward to the big geography test (have to know a bunch of terms and concepts in addition to knowing the location and spelling of all African and American countries (including all of the Caribbean Island countries....eww). Other than that, school is good. Jacob and possibly even Kevin might be coming down to AZ to visit... and we all know that with them comes a massive force of chaos, craziness, and general insanity, leaving in their wake a horrific illustration of destruction and disarray... It will be fun ;)!

5/16/04 - Well my friends, I'm back, much like the plague. After years of inactivity and a constant post of being 13 and in middle school (quite a ruse to many perverted pedophile geeks), I blow the proverbial dust off the old page and attempt to breathe new life into a long since dormant site. Yes, it's a beautiful thing. "But Jonathan," you might ask, "what shall you do with this bold, new site?" Well my silly friend, the more valid question would be, "what WON'T you do with this bold, new site?" and to that I would reply..."Heck if I know!"  All I know is that I will try and keep this page freshly updated, and try and get some pretty interesting stuff up here! In the meantime, enjoy the bland and sterile stupidity of my website!
