Ruth's Poetry
In My Loneliness
In my loneliness I think of you Wishing I could hold you near And whisper in your ear Reminding you of the fun times we had The sad I would also include if we had this interlude Because the nearness of you would not let me feel bad
In my dreams you come to me and all is as it use to be We gently embrace while face to face as if holding on Will slow time's pace Too soon we must go but we will meet again you know They say that parting is such sweet sorrow But there is always tomorrow!

The Vow
The vow, "Till Death Do We Part" was proclaimed Husband and Wife we were named
Our lives commenced Happiness, joy and contentment No end was sensed
You became ill With a sickness that could kill I thought of the vow It will be okay somehow
All someday must part What the vow did not impart I had given you my heart

The "Cabin"
What happy memories the above title evokes In our prime we found the perfect get-a-way Working all week and raising a family of four Brought not a little stress We sought rest
The "Cabin" was on a lake Just an ordinary little place That slowed our pace
We fished, grilled, laughed and loved The get-a-way went away The "Cabin" became our home
The years passed Kids grew and my beloved died
Today, I sold the "Cabin" But a lifetime of happy memories I took with ME!

My Home
My home is my heart Never will we part A lifetime of love is there Memories abound as I look around
Newlyweds so excited Visual plans of happy times to come Children; at least four or five Will make the place come alive
Times when life was rough That's when we got tough You know after the storm There is a rainbow
My home will always have a special place In my memories and heart That's why we will never part

Old And New
Scores of years Laughter and tears Are filling my heart Memories so vibrant Play before my eyes
Treasures of days gone by Are stored away Photos of loved ones Mom and Dad A favorite Aunt Our chldren
A chipped bowl colored orange Takes an equal place alongside Wedding crystal and china
Letters that speak of love Small cards, once attached to a bouquet Are tucked inside a favorite book
Life is not ending Old treasures will mingle Amongst a new beginning
