Hi, This is Colleen O'Brien. The last time I spoke with you i had told you that I would get a hold of the reading that I and many of Mark's friends had read at the wake. In this e-mail the way it was written appearance wise isn't the way we had it originally, but you can fix it thanks. I will try to also get a hold of some pictures to send to you to add to the photo album. If you need anything else feel free to write I'd be happy to help. tell your family that I said hello.
love always Colleen
Beloved Friends
What can you say about someone who meant so much to so many? Very few people are fortunate enough to be able to play such a prominent role in the lives of so many others.
Mark was a special and gifted person who was blessed with these extraordinary abilities. And because of these abilities his peers are blessed to have known him.
Mark could put a smile on your face, no matter what the situation was. Most of the time he would do it without even trying; that is what made him so special and unique. Just looking at him, or talking to him was enough to raise anyone's spirits. No matter what the weather was, Mark's radiant smile could clear up the gloomiest day.
To us he was known as Marcus, Marquito, Lat, Latino, Marky Mark, Latin Lover and what every else came to mind. For a friend with so many names, his character was truly one of a kind.
Marquito was one of the most carefree and loving souls to ever grace our presence. It was with this carefree spirit that he would smile and laugh when informed that a Teacher had just called his house. When being caught in the middle of watergun crossfire, he would shrug his shoulders and smile. No matter what the school function was, he was always prepared with the proper beverage.
Mark marched to the beat of a different drummer This is the same beat that will always live in our hearts. During our upcoming Senior year we will find ourselves gazing up at the sky, wondering Where and how you are; Knowing that you are looking down upon us with that same Radiant smile as before.
Until the day we get to see this smile face to face, Our love continues to grow for you. We Love You Marcus!
This eulogy was written by Close friends and classmates of Mark Aliaga. This was read at Mark's wake by Ryan Kelly and Jonathan Lombardo.
Received via e-mail from Colleen (Leenie) O'Brien on January 15, 1999. Mailed from Loyola College
