While you're here maybe you'd like to read my first poem. I wrote it one night when I couldn't sleep...

Song of the Seasons

A glimpse into my garden,
The roses nod their heads.
Dreamily, they close their eyes,
And slumber in their beds.

O'er the canopy of treetops,
The bluebirds sweetly sing.
A lovely farewell song whilst
They await the following spring.

And 'though I stop to ponder
The sweet music that I hear;
I cannot see the carolers
I've come to know so dear.

Now, I too, close my eyes
Aware of autumn's breezes;
To dream again of that haunting scent,
My memory enchantingly teases.

The pleasant summer now o'er,
My flowers all put to bed;
The fires at night to keep us warm,
The embers glowing red.

But cozy am I, "throw" on my lap;
I gaze at the starlit night.
And amazingly see snowflakes,
Oh! such a wondrous sight!

So I sing a song for the seasons,
There's beauty in them all.
For there are flowers in the spring,
And cozy fires in the fall.

Again, I glimpse my garden,
Roses nodding their heads;
Flutter open dreamy eyes,
And awaken in their beds!

Garden Poetry...

Submitted by Melissa:

Joyous garden!
such sweet respite
as I emerge from winter's dungeon
I walk into your light
and sift through my fingers
your sun-warmed soil,
anticipating your rebirth
As you are renewed....
So is my soul

(Thanks for sharing, Melissa! That's a beautiful poem!)
