COUNTRY PORCH

Almost six years ago we were having some work done around our house and I had to decide if I wanted a back deck or a "farmer's porch". I opted for the porch on the front of the house and I've never been sorry. I would still like to have the deck, someday. I love changing the decor of my porch with each season or holiday and I will put some photos on here of how it looks at various times of the year. Thanks for stopping by to visit. ~ Karen

DECEMBER/JANUARY

Santa Claus sits in the rocker for the week before Christmas, so he can wave to all the neighborhood children. (I bought a Santa outfit and put it over a padded wooden frame.)

I tried making a little village scene on the deacons bench. The red schoolhouse (birdhouse) was a Xmas gift from my grandson, Dustin. The beautiful white church was a birthday gift from my mother.

Above: I made raffia bows for the tree in the corner and topped it with a gold star. Left: The red skis were a yard sale find for $1. Bunky bolted them together to form an X and I added some greens and a red bow. I picked up the old ice skates at an antique shop. Of course, Casper is sitting in his favorite spot to show everyone that this is a "Cat's Meow" house. *smile*
